Review: Monday's Not Coming
Y'all pissed doesn't even begin to cover as to how I feel about this book. I feel disappointed, cheated, bamboozled because this book was going so damn well, and then it had to pull that bloody card like that. Like I was so deep into that book and then boom that chapter appeared out of nowhere and it shattered all my hopes for this book.
Monday Charles is missing. But no one but Claudia Cole notices it when she comes to school. Claudia knows that Monday isn't one to miss class, or even leave her to face the bullies and CERTAINLY NOT when her grades are on the line. And somehow nobody but Claudia seems to take note of Monday's absence. Claudia's mother or her sister April refuse to tell anything and Claudia knows something is wrong. She doesn't care that she has to find it out on her knows, all she wants is her bestfriend, her soul sister back.
QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 3.5/5, Y'ALL THIS BOOK WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE STARS IF IT DIDN'T HAVE THAT THING.

WHAT DID I FEEL ABOUT THE BOOK'S:
1. Writing Quality: Despite how I feel about the book, I will not lie, I was pretty much impressed and pretty much in awe of this book's writing style. It's easy flowing without drag, and it's pretty much interesting enough to draw you in. First line in, and you're immediately piqued. It reveals just enough but it holds back enough information which keeps the reader hunkering for more and I think that is a very good quality that one could find in the book. I did not actually mind the continuous time changes that happen throughout this book, instead, I actually loved them because they gave me a deeper insight into what was going through Claudia's mind. I mean if my friend went missing, I'd feel the same.
2. Character Development: Character development was shocking for me. I loved Claudia's character, because I understand the desperation she feels when she finds that her best friend is not around anymore. Well, more like soul sister. Man I'd have a mental breakdown if I woke up and couldn't find my soul sister anymore. And these girls are about to enter high school, which I'm pretty sure is the age of 14 which is again a confusing age for an AFAB because your body is growing and everything is such a new experience and everything is so damn confusing. I'm kind of even jealous of the relationship Claudia has with her parents and how her parents are actually accepting her changes because usually this age creates a big af rift between kids and parents if not looked into and handled properly.
3. Couldn't put it down- Ness: 8/10. Can't deny, I was pretty much absorbed into this book. It's seriously nice.
4. Plot Twists: THIS, THIS, THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS. Like seriously, this is the one thing that pissed me the fuck off. Like seriously, "you had one of those episodes/ none of this is real/ you were on meds" card? Like seriously? Are you being for real right now? Like that is the most anti climatic way to end a book. Pissed doesn't even begin to cover at how angry and disappointed I am. I have trust issues now. I can't even trust a book that is good throughout the whole of it because now I'm afraid that it might get ruined in the last few pages. My trust be shattered. I don't know who to trust anymore.
5. Plot: The plot was going so well until they introduced that meds thingy. Like seriously, disappointment extreme. Like I was so invested into it but then that meds thing came up. I mean I do understand it as a part of PTSD but I feel like the plot could have a much better ending. It's just that the "it never happened trope" is so anti climatic. And ugh. Just UGH. So disappointed.
