Review: A Thousand Boy Kisses
Seriously, I gotta thank my system of switching books every two days to keep or else I wouldn't understand how to keep this blog running. Legendary kept putting me into a slump and god damn, I would lose all my dear readers if I wasn't updating regularly. Gonna do everything to save my blog.
A single kiss lasts a moment. A thousand kisses, they last a lifetime. And that was the promise Poppy and Rune had made to one another when they were kids. To have a thousand kisses together, in their lifetime. And things were going well, that is until Rune has to move away and they make a promise of being each other's forever. But that is until Poppy cuts off all contact two years ago. Rune is angry but all of it vanishes away until he finds the heartbreaking truth, one that could change and shatter their lives forever.
QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 4.7/5, GOD THE DYNAMIC WAS JUST SO DAMN CUTE I WANNA CRY.
WHAT DID I FEEL ABOUT THE BOOK'S:
1. Writing Quality: The writing style is switching POVs, which, I have no read enough books by now to notice that is a style in angsty romance novels, especially young adult. I am not complaining about it though. In romance books, it has got to be one of my most favourite things ever to see both the leads slowly growing around each other. Its simply that cute. And it's like short and has a nice flow to it so you can read it pretty quickly.
2. Character Development: Okay, Rune and Poppy. Poppy and Rune. God their dynamic is so fricking cute. Like I seriously want something like that. I want an S/O who loves me so much that they can't forget about me even when they are angry with me. Because that is seriously GOALS. You hear me? GOALS. Because it's so beautiful to see Rune go to the ends of the earth just to make ends meet for the ONE girl that he loves so much. And it's really wholesome and heartbreaking because I wanted to see them together for a lot longer time. And Rune patching it up with his family was the most wonderful moment because he was hating them and blaming them for everything that had happened and then finding comfort in their arms especially his dad. And the little bonding moment between Rune and his bro, so cute.
3. Couldn't put it down- Ness: 9/10. Other than the fact that I had to go for my afternoon nap, I pretty much finished this book in a single sitting. Why? Because it's that awesome. And I think it's really easy to follow so there isn't much to put down.
4. Intellectual Depth: I think this hit so close to home because it's just based on accepting that the ones we love are always going to go one day. And you really never know how much time you actually have left, with them. And once you realize that when there isn't a lot of time, you gotta do all you can to make that little bit of time precious. And seriously, that does hit hard. You never know when time with someone's gonna become a memory. And then you're gonna live on with those memories only.
5. Plot: At first I really did not understand what the title meant, but then, as soon as I finished reading the prologue, it all made sense. At first, the book did remind me a lot of Ember and Arorhea [from CITY Heart on Wattpad, link below, hope I do not get cancelled]. And the whole story, from beginning to end is so heartbreaking, and you know what's about to happen and yet, you keep reading, and I think that's the magic of it. Though I personally feel like, that last chapter did seem a bit off to me.
