They Both Die At The End

I never fully understood the meaning of book hangover until now. Like seriously, this book just emotionally tore me apart. Like seriously Adam Silvera tore me apart. Like seriously, you do need to read this book because you're freaking missing out on life. Kudos to this book and it totally lived up to the hype. DAMN. I don't think I will ever get over this book hangover.

Rufus and Mateo are about to die. There's no stopping about that. And they have less than 24 hours to live. Neither of them want to die. And neither of them deserve to. Both of them decide to spend their last day together, saying their goodbyes and doing all the things that they always want to do. Rufus and Mateo slowly falling for one another is something that both of them thought would never happen, but they do, and all they wish is for some more time to live longer.

QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 4.9/5, I WANNA CRY BECAUSE THE SECOND BOOK'S COMING OUT IN OCTOBER.

WHAT DID I FEEL ABOUT THE  BOOK'S:

1. Writing Quality: The beginning is a bit gritty. Like it's really boring and flat-ish to get through it.  But that's all that's limited to the first two chapters. Maybe because they're introductory chapters that they seem so flat? Because it's just a real page turner after that. I like the way the story is told, in two different POVs. What did actually irk me was the fact that there were sudden changes in the narration from first person to third person?

2. Character Development: The character development individually is not something that is quite visible? Because Rufus and Mateo, by themselves do not show any changes but when they're together, there happens to be a real significant change in their dynamic. They turn from stranger to friends to lovers, and that is my favourite trope after lovers to enemies, fake dating and enemies to lovers. And the falling in love between the two of them is too cute to not just  gush over.

3. Couldn't put it down- Ness: 10/10. YOU CANNOT JUST PUT IT DOWN. YOU JUST CANNOT. You know it's gonna be painful every time you advance but you still wanna keep going because it's just awesome. Like damn. I wanted to keep going all the damn time but ADHD. This damned ADHD will be the death of me because while I wanted to read the book my mind asked to do something else and even when I try to blog, my mind got distracted.

4. Intellectual Depth: After a while of reading books, I kind of realized what the intellectual depth of this book is? Maybe I'll need a second read to figure out what it actually means later on but for now I guess it's just living your life to its best? Because you never know when you're going to die. You never know which day is your last or you never know when you talk to someone for the last time. And that's kind of a LOT to think about. And it's asking you to live your life to the fullest because you never know when your time is up. I just love it too much to be able to explain.

5. Plot: I LOVE IT. I CRIED AT THE END OF THIS.

OVERALL, A GREAAAAT READ, PLEASE, I'd sell my soul to read this again for the first time.
