Review: Radio Silence

Just like the book before this, this book was SCREAMING in my tbr despite having booked my days till February. And at this point, I don't think I can follow my tbr. Like I followed like the first three books of the list and then went on random because those books just won't fucking stop screaming at me.

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman follows the story of Frances Janvier who has figured it all. She's the head girl of her school, gets straight A's and is all set for Cambridge university. But outside of her studious girl at school persona, Frances likes fluffy clothes, draws fanart and listens to a podcast named Universe City which is made by a person named Radio Silence. What happens when Frances finds out that Radio Silence is the quiet boy across the street Aled Last. And what would happen when Aled realizes he hired Frances to do the official Universe City artwork?

QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 4/5, god dayum. GOD DAMN. Holy freaking shit.

PROS:

1. Characters: Please, they're adorable. I want to give each and every single one of them a hug because they're awesome and they freaking deserve it. I want to tell them it's all gonna be fine and it's not the end of the world yet.  And seriously, their development is awesome. Like Aled and Frances coming out of their shell, Raine not being as shallow as shown in the beginning of the  story, and Carys having a background story for running away.

2. Another character driven story wonderfully written. Even though it does not really focus on Frances, who's the main character and usually character driven characters are based on main characters, but it focuses on Aled and how his world revolves around Universe City.

3. Demisexual rep: It was minor like reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally at the end of the story but it made me feel happy to see that Frances was demisexual because i am demisexual and it makes me very very happy and represented. HAPPY VIBES.

CONS:

There weren't any cons whatsoever, but the story did seem a bit slow and boring at first but then went on to be very interesting after the first 100 pages.

MOST FAVOURITE CHARACTER:

Frances' mum. She's literally THE mum all of us kids can wish for. She's progressive, she actually wants her daughter to go out there and have life changing experiences like getting drunk, having sex and the yada. And she doesn't even mind a guy sneaking in late at night into her daughter's room. No judging, no innuendos what-so-fucking-ever. And she even helps her daughter get out of her study stupor. Like seriously, Frances, you up for exchanging mothers? I'm up.

LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER:

Carol Last. She deserves to have her head decapitated and put on a skewer which I would wave in front of her weeping mother. She's a fucking psychopath like wahman, how in the world could you do that to your own kids? Mentally torture them till they give up? That shit's fucked up yo. Like seriously, I'd like to give Carys and Aled a very big hug for tolerating that woman. I would have freaking committed arson if someone did that to me yo. If you're not gonna treat your kids they way they deserve, use protection smh.

OVERALL, A NICE READ, though I did feel like Loveless overpowered it.
