Review: A Touch Of Darkness

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER. Bullshit. I read this book solely because the cover looked pretty as hell. And the title gave me a promise. So  I read it, nothing beyond than that. Give me a pretty cover and a nice mysterious title and I'm in.

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair can be considered as a reimagining of the story of Hades and Persephone, with a modern twist where Gods and mortals can interact on a regular basis. Persephone, in a state of frenzy forms a contract with Hades, the god of the underworld, which may or may not lead to a steamy romance between the two.
Heavens this book bored me so much I can't even blog properly.

QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW:  3/5? Idk the book didn't seem to hold my interest for long. I only read it fully cuz once I start a book, I like to finish it.

PROS:

1. Promise, I guess? I mean, when I started the book in the beginning it held a LOT of promise for me. I'm not usually the one to like reimagines of old legends but this one seemed good.

2. Plot twist: I mean, the contract between Aphrodite and Hades was something I did not see coming. I mean, usually there is something that would break the female lead's heart but seriously, did not see it.

3. Character development was fine, but that's about it.

CONS:

1. Plotline: Flat as a the heartbeat of a dead person. A flatline. Like literally. It began so well, but then it just idk, fell flat? I get that it was romance but somehow, just...

2. Erotica:  I know, I know, where there's romance in new adult there's GOT to be erotica. But doesn't mean I won't dislike it though.

3. Descriptions: Certain descriptions were good, but most of them were so vague, it was hard to form an image of it and I just couldn't.

4. The fact that I just lost interest reading it.

Overall, a meh read, not sure if I want to read it or recommend it again.
