Review: The Love Hypothesis

You know what, it has been a while since something genuinely, unironically made me laugh. I mean, just how Five Feet Apart had reduced me into tears, this book made sure I was laughing my heart/guts out, whichever one you think sounds appropriate.

The Love Hypothesis written by Ali Hazelwood, follows the story of Olive who had kissed the university's known ass, Adam Carlsen,  to convince Olive's best friend Anh, that she was over Jeremy (her ex-boyfriend, whom Anh very much liked). Following the kiss, Adam and Olive are thrown into numerous situations where they have to act like a couple, leading to a lot of mirth and laughter in the process.

QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 4.8/5, I had a really fun time watching these two struggle to fake-date.

PROS:

1. Plotline: Really amazing and engaging plot, I had a lot of fun reading it. I mean, people would stop reading my blog if I said the same thing over and over again so Imma cut it short here.

2. Humour: OH god, this is something that I just HAD to add. I will not lie when I said I had a hell lot of laugh from reading the whole book. I mean even with the first chapter. Fuck. Her. Life. ICONIC. And then there were the little hypotheses at the beginning of every chapter, good heavens, so relatable, so funny.

3. The trope: I will not lie, I am personally in LOVE with the fake dating trope in novels. Just, love it. I just can't help but fantasize that the heartthrob ass of the school will want to fake date me and then real date me when I read these tropes. Kinda gives me the reason to believe in love sometimes, even though there really isn't. REAL MEN DISAPPOINT, LADIES, OPT FOR FICTIONAL MEN.

4. Characters: not the main character, but the side characters Anh and Malcolm. They're really the type of friends I'd actually like to have when I'm off to college. And Malcolm just reminds me of myself, thirsting over hot men left and right. Malcolm, I feel you bruh, I feel you.

CONS:

None whatsoever, except for the moment that I had to endure erotica for one chapter. For someone, who has made his/her disdain for  erotica quite clear, I still kinda don't like it but since it was one chapter, it was endurable.

OVERALL, a nice read if anyone wants to have a good laugh.
