Review: Five Feet Apart

I recently reread this book and my mind just went Yes, we're gonna write a frigging blog about this, I don't care. I mean, this is the first book that made me cry. And I'm THE most insensitive person you'll ever meet in this universe.

Five Feet Apart is a love story surrounding the premises of Saint Grace Regional Hospital, where Stella and Will, two patients with cystic fibrosis, fall in love with one another and try to maintain a relationship despite having forced to stay five feet apart from one another.

QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 5/5. I mean, just, it just made me cry. And it makes me cry every single time I reread it.

PROS:

1.Narration: easy flowing  narration and it does not drag at all. One of the things that I really appreciate in books is not dragging the beginning. The books I've reviewed so far have this thing mentioned to. If there's anything that's gonna stop me from reading it, it's the drag.

2. Relatable characters: I mean, not talking about Will and Stella, they're the main characters, of course they're gonna be relatable, but POE! Frickin POE! He has got the wits, the sass and the humour, the holy trinity for me to like any other character.  Because you always pack for a hot hospital romance. ICONIC.

3. Tugging at the heartstrings: Yes, this happened. I'm an insensitive as hell person but this book! THIS BOOK, made me feel things I didn't know I felt. I mean, I was already crying buckets by the time of Poe's death, but by the time the book had ended, I had to grab a whole box of tissues. This book not only touches your heart, it enters your heart in its deepest spot, tugs at the heartstrings.

4. Platonic moments: since the age of Neanderthals, people have been saying one thing, boy-girl relationships cannot be platonic. Yes, the book is a contemporary romance but Will and Stella do have moments that make you want to believe in friendship. And then there's Poe and Stella, who always have each other's backs no matter what. 21st century is utter crap when it comes for friendship. As Poe says Would fucking lie on hot coals for her. That is a sign of true friendship.

CONS:

None whatsoever, I mean, how in the world do you think I'm gonna find a con in a book I just rated 5 stars? I don't rate a book five stars that easily, so if I did, that means, the book's worth something.

OVERALL, A TERRIFIC READ, 100% RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE.
