Review: The Book Worm Crush
After reading and reading and reading and reading tons of stuff that left me emotionally traumatized, my mind just went You know what? It's time to detox, a simple lighthearted romance read. Just to empty the brain only to be emotionally scarred by more books again.
The Bookworm Crush is a story written by Lisa Brown Roberts and follows the story of Amy, a bookworm, who needs the help of her long time crush and surfer-Toff Nichols, to help her get out of her shy zone and win a contest in which she would get to meet her favourite romance author, if she won the contest. But this might turn into something more...who knows?
QUICK THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: 3.9/5. It seemed more of Wattpad vibes from me if I'm frank.
PROS:
1. Relaxing read: Yeah, this is a fact that I will most certainly not admit in books often. Most books take me through an entire tsunami of emotions which is in fact something I enjoy. But this book made me relax a bit which I absolutely adore.
2. Easy going people: I loved how no one was very much tensed or too mature for their age. It was just a normal town, with laid back people who did what they enjoyed doing; living a homely life and being just about their own business. No malicious stalker, no nosing their noses into other people's business and I adored that.
3. Book references: Like DAMN. Pride and Prejudice is personally one of my favourite all time books, and I kept smiling like a bloody idiot whenever I saw a reference. And Toff's shirt in the end TALK DARCY TO ME. Damn Damn Damn Damn DAMN. Flawless.
4. THERE'S A CHARACTER NAMED ROSE. Not directly but one of my nicknames is Rose ;))
CONS:
1. Stereotype: I think the book really struck me as stereotypic? Especially when it came to Amy's character. The I'm not like other girls trope was glaring throughout the time that I read the book.
2. Wattpad vibe: Maybe because I've spent to much time on that devastated site but I couldn't just help but think "Damn this is something that I find on Wattpad".
